Born; Russia. At the age of 11 he migrated with his family to the US. In 1907 Jake moved to Cairo, Georgia. In 1917 he was inducted in the US Army and served during World War I. Service number 26-507-85. While serving in the Army Jake became a US citizen. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Cairo, where in 1921 he opened his own clothing and dry goods business on Cairo's South Broad Street and remained in business at the same location until 1970. Home Address; 720 South Broad Street, Cairo, Georgia. Charter Member, American Legion Post 122 Grady County. On April 6, 2014, American Legion Post 122 was named in Jake's honor. Burial; Hebrew Cemetery, Thomasville, Georgia.
