- Combat Infantryman Badge; Bronze Star Medal; Citation reads, In the vicinity of Fort de France, France, when German mortar fire threatened to pin down the advancing rifle companies of the 1st Battalion, 378th Infantry Regiment, PFC Rackley remained at his machine gun. In a position exposed to hostile shelling, he silenced the German mortar. PFC Rackley's bold performance of duty permitted the rifle companies to resume their assault and carry the objective. His courageous conduct reflects distinct credit on him and is in accordance with the highest traditions of the military service.
