Howard operated the S&L Furniture Store for many years after the death of his father, Harvey. Upon selling the store, he retired to pursue his hobby of gardening and landscaping. He was a 1947 graduate of Cairo High School. Burial; Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Grady County, Georgia.
