Graduate of Emory University 1920. Attended Harvard School of Business for one year. Charter member of American Legion Post 122 Grady County. During World War II, Alvin volunteered and enlisted in US Navy. In 1921 he entered the hardware business with his father and established an impressive business record. Burial; Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia.
