- USS Franklin (CV-13); USS Corregidor (CVE-58)
- Was aboard the USS Franklin (CV-13) when it steamed to Brooklyn Navy Yard for repairs after it was bombed within 50 miles of the Japanese Home Islands, near Honshu, Japan. Even with considerable loss of life, the remaining crew was able to gain control of the fire and brought the ship to Brooklyn Navy Yard.
