Notes
The Grayson was an escort for the USS Hornet (CV-8), which approached the Japan coast and launched the Tokyo air raid led by Lt. Colonel James W. Doolittle. The first American air strike against the heart of Japan. The Grayson downed eight enemy aircraft, sunk one enemy submarine and destroyed numerous shore targets.
