Born in New Orleans, Louisiana. My grandfather was a Navy LCDR in the Pacific during WWII in charge of stevedores. My father was a Navy fighter pilot in the 50s & early 60s, retiring as a Reserve CDR. Attended the University of Mississippi on an ROTC scholarship and received my commission on 15 May 1977 as a Surface Warfare Officer. Following my retirement, I started the NJROTC Unit at Tampa Bay Technical High School and was the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI). After six years with the unit in Tampa, I moved to Cairo, Georgia and assumed the position of SNSI at the Cairo High School NJROTC unit.
