First reported 1942-05-07. POW Camp #3, Philippines. Transported to Fukuoka Camp #5 Kyushu Island, Japan. Transported from Manila, Philippines to Fukuoka Japan aboard "Hell Ship" Canadian Inventor named by the POWs the Mati Mati Maru which translates to the Wait Wait Ship. Departed Manila July 4, 1944 returned to Manila had boiler problems and returned to Manila for repairs, departed again July 7, 1944 arrived Mojo, Japan September 1, 1944. Burial; Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia.
